Earlier this week, I wrote about professional coach Dusan Djukich’s six pieces, each with thirteen points, on ways entrepreneurs can succeed in 2013. Mr. Djukich has written another piece, 13 Things That Successful Entrepreneurs Will Sometimes Tell You If Asked.
Mr. Djukich describes this as “a potent set of distinctions that many leading entrepreneurs regard as extremely valuable for generating increased personal and business effectiveness.” In his book, Straight-Line Leadership, he explains that distinctions are “tools for escaping a circular existence.” My article on the book is here.
Here is an excerpt from the new piece:
Depth of commitment is something that is created. … People love being around it. It is highly attractive. It is the polar opposite of attempting to gain acceptance by being one of the crowd. Trying to fit in and be normal will only guarantee boredom, mediocrity and a lot of unnecessary struggle and suffering. Be remarkable. Stand out. Be the person others are afraid to be. Thrive – don’t just survive.
Candace Allen and Dwight R. Lee observed, in their article, “The Entrepreneur on the Heroic Journey”:
Entrepreneurs are, in fact, heroic figures, and their accomplishments are worth celebrating. All of us are better off because entrepreneurs have been willing to attempt what others knew couldn’t be done, and then persist in the face of adversity. Their visions extend beyond existing horizons, and eventually expand the realm of the realistic, transforming one generation’s dreams into the next generation’s necessities.
Mr. Djuckich’s new piece will further help entrepreneurs on their journey.
